Poetry on the Block
This poem is about, and is for, the children who were growing up homeless in our cities and suburbs. It was a project with Red Room Poetry, supported by the City of Sydney.
The collection, "Holy" redefines the semantics of sin, shame and guilt by interrogating social relationships governed by power. It digests the difficult intersections of generational trauma, seeded by neglect and piety.
This collection of poetry was originally released as a chapbook and began as a major project for a creative writing class. It explores the tension between love, abuse, and power.
